Who writes WealthRadiant?

I’m Callum Melville, the founder and author of WealthRadiant. I am a commercial pilot, Canadian DIY investor, and personal finance writer focused on clear, practical investing decisions for Canadian readers.

Flying made me allergic to vague thinking. You prepare, use checklists, respect risk, and avoid emotional decisions when conditions are not perfect. I try to bring the same mindset to money: understand the rules, reduce avoidable costs, and build systems that are boring enough to stick with.

I started taking personal finance seriously after going through flight training with a meaningful amount of debt. That forced me to learn how interest, cash flow, account choice, and investing fees actually affect real decisions.

What this site covers

WealthRadiant publishes Canadian personal finance articles, ETF comparisons, brokerage guides, account explainers, and calculators. The goal is to help readers make better next decisions, not to make personal finance sound more complicated than it needs to be.

  • Investing and ETFs. Canadian-listed ETF reviews, comparisons, MERs, holdings, account fit, and portfolio tradeoffs.
  • Registered accounts. TFSA, RRSP, FHSA, RESP, and non-registered account considerations for Canadian investors.
  • Brokerages and tools. Brokerage comparisons, account-opening guides, and calculators that make costs and tradeoffs easier to see.

How articles are handled

  • Primary sources first. Tax/account rules are checked against CRA or Canada.ca where possible. ETF facts are checked against provider pages and fund facts. Brokerage claims are checked against official pricing and fee pages.
  • Canadian context matters. Articles are written for Canadian readers unless clearly stated otherwise.
  • Affiliate links are separated from judgment. Some articles include affiliate links, but recommendations still have to fit the reader’s situation.

Editorial standards

For a fuller explanation of how articles are researched and updated, read the Editorial Policy. If you spot something that looks wrong or outdated, the Corrections Policy explains how to request a fix.

For compensation details, read the Advertising and Affiliate Disclosure. WealthRadiant may earn commissions from some links, including relevant Questrade and KOHO links, but paid relationships do not decide whether a product is included or recommended.

Useful starting points include the Best Canadian ETFs guide, the TFSA explainer, the RRSP guide, and the site calculators.
